Forensic Practice

A Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and Board Certified in Child, Adolescent as well as General Psychiatry, Dr. Roitman has been admitted as an expert in Federal and District Courts (California and Nevada) since 1990, testifying on all age groups across civil and criminal matters. He specializes in precision diagnosis of DSM IV disorders and their implications on thinking and behavior.

Dr. Roitman teaches in two departments of the University of Nevada School of Medicine as a compensated Clinical Professor. He conducts accurate and convincing workups of defendants in every diagnostic category. His strength is his clear professional presentation and his ability to explain psychiatric factors in simple everyday language. With administrative and clinical fellowships and experience, including psychopharmacology, neuropsychiatry and psychotherapy, he is qualified in a wide range of forensic psychiatric matters and mental health standards of care.

Over his thirty-five years of practice, Dr. Roitman has testified on behalf of the casino industry, has represented nationally renown sports figures, and has testified in hearings regarding defense of the United States Postal Service and the US Navy as employers. He has assisted as a forensic psychiatrist in matters pertaining to fitness and security clearance of military contractors, and served in mal practice complaints and defense.

Dr. Roitman has testified before the Nevada Gaming Control Board, the Board of Medical Examiners and Osteopathic Physicians, and the Nevada Athletic Commission. He works with Nevada’s most respected attorneys and law firms. In 2011, as in previous years, Dr. Roitman was named as a Top Doctor in Las Vegas Life Magazine.
